- sits underneath the clitoris (does NOT sit in the clitoris)
- can have a stimulating effect
- leaves an inconspicuous scar
- first use depending on anatomy: horseshoe / circular barbell
- needs a smaller ring after healing, in this case you can change to a ball closure ring
